Diagnostic Audiometry Hearing aid evaluation
Hearing tests may be requested by an ENT Consultant as part of a consultation in order to determine the degree and type of hearing loss and to assist in diagnosis of a range of hearing and balance disorders. Self-referrals are also welcomed from those concerned about their hearing and in need of advice on possible solutions.
A hearing test will help to identify hearing loss that may be helped by hearing aids. Signs of hearing loss can be feeling that people are mumbling, asking frequently for repetition, turning the TV up or struggling to hear in noisy environments. Existing hearing aid users are also welcome to request an evaluation of the performance of their current aids. Hearing test results and any recommendations or advice are always explained clearly at the appointment and questions answered to ensure that you leave well informed about your hearing and options.
